Christmas Extravaganza!

It took 30-inches of snow in about as many hours for me to sit still long enough to say a little something about my Christmas vacation.  To be honest, I have more pictures than words so I'll just get right to it:
Union Station In Washington DC

Red, White & Blue-Themed Christmas Tree at the White House
Oh, that reminds me...  we must have looked like quite the crew as we headed out of Union Station to the Museum of American History.  It was raining and we had one Hello Kitty umbrella, one My Little Pony umbrella and 16 people.  We hit the museum for a brief walk-through to see Abraham Lincoln's hat, Steam Locomotive Jupiter and the original American Flag that inspired Francis Scott Key to write our National Anthem.   Then off to our primary appointment: a visit to the White House.  We stood and stood and stood in that rain.  Then we stood some more.  Then we went through a security tent.  Then we stood some more in the rain.  Then we went through another white security tent.  Then we stood some more in the rain.  Then we went through a security trailer.  Then I almost got lost on a single-track walkway.  Then we went through a security building.  Then we walked through the rain to enter (drum roll, please) The White House!

One Dining/Ballroom was decorated in candy!  That's a gum ball tree!

Who put Cam in charge of the map?

The cousins' elves, Elfie and Elfie, came to check up on them while they were here which meant they got to catch up with their old Elf friend, Elfie!  (yep, we all named our elves Elfie)

Cam found Fritz's pj's and confiscated them for the rest of the trip.  They were a little short on her, but she didn't seem to mind

Passing along a Christmas tradition: A Christmas Story

Attempted sleepover in the tent.  Let's just say that Dad, me & Hope were the only ones to wake up in the tent in the AM

We had a GREAT time visiting w/ family and we hope they come again soon!
